The Government provides additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE), sport and physical activity in primary schools. The funding is intended to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport, increase participation in physical activity and support pupils to lead healthy, active lives.
PE and Sport Premium Funding 2025–2026
Arundale Primary School received PE and Sport Premium funding during the 2025–2026 academic year. No funding was carried forward into the following academic year.
How the funding was used
The school used the funding to:
- Develop staff confidence and expertise through professional development and coaching.
- Increase opportunities for pupils to participate in extracurricular sporting activities.
- Purchase equipment and resources to support PE and physical activity.
- Access School Games and competitive sporting opportunities.
- Provide specialist coaching and sporting experiences.
- Support participation for key groups including disadvantaged pupils, girls and pupils with SEND.
Impact
The funding has enabled the school to:
- Improve the quality of PE provision.
- Increase opportunities for participation in physical activity and sport.
- Provide a wider range of sporting experiences.
- Support pupils' physical health, wellbeing and engagement in school sport.
